edit: i also found a awesome plugin but idk if virgil wants to add it
its a plugin for bukkit that will add a rpgish style like u need lvl 30 mining for daimond pickaxe and need lvl 20 mining to mine lapis azuli ore

it may get updated and stuff but atm its v2.2

Look for Bukkit plugins if you wanna find more, plugins can be put into the game, i think mods are for single player only but im unsure.

maybe u can use the mods for the server too cus it does have a .jar file like minecraft.jar
maybe u will need to do the same as in minecraft.jar to get the mods on the server

Most mods only work with singleplayer. If its a server plugin I may concider adding them to the server.
